I F46 have a finance M62 of 4 years and no wedding still, though we have been engaged for 4 years and he asked me very publicly (major event with friends, family, and colleagues even!) I think we could have had a wedding despite life issues (we had a lot of expenses legal etc unavoidable but both of us are high earners, turns out he had investments he could have used all along for our wedding. Now my engagement ring was stolen and he was weird and evasive about getting information for me and for cops and insurance. Well, I found out my ring was made 2 years before we met and he had gaslit me about thinking my ring looked like his exes.
Other people’s experience with these things? He is great with most things, but this feels like a huge betrayal. And the worst thing is that he’s still denying and deflecting, and even punishing me I think for trying to talk to him about it. As in I got friends to take our teen this evening (not an easy feat for Xmas and I would only do it kid was really going to love it!!) and he won’t watch a show with me, sit by me, nothing, as if I did something wrong. I am interested in hearing male and female takes on the hand me down ring and if you would cash out enough of your investments for a wedding after you ask a woman to vmarry you? As a woman, if I had asked him to marry me and I had investments I would have cashed some out for a wedding 💰🤷♀️
