I (30M) have been with my girlfriend (29F) for 5 years. When I initiate sex, she often asks that we first watch a romantic movie so she can get in the mood. This has been a consistent pattern.
I care about her comfort and don’t want her to feel pressured, but I sometimes wonder if this is just a normal difference in how we experience desire, since mine is more spontaneous and hers seems to need these movie. I just felt like she is not interested in me.
Is this common in long-term relationships, and how can I talk about it in a respectful, non-pressuring way?
