So my bf and I have been together around four months and so far it’s been great and serious and healthy. We’ve met each others family, hung out at each others homes and made future plans. Unfortunately though, my bf is starting classes really far away soon, and he’ll be away for over eight months. Given how we’re both serious about this relationship, I do want to continue it as an LDR for those eight months and I assume he does too as he has asked me questions about our time apart and made plans for when he’s done his classes and we can be together again.

Anyway, this is all great but I keep seeing online that there’s certain topics and things you should ask before continuing the relationship as an LDR. For example, asking him if he wants that rather than assuming, and our boundaries while away, etc. I understand why this is important, but I’m very new to dating and I’m kinda unsure on how to bring this whole conversation up without freaking him out, or what to even say. What are the kinds of things we should talk about? We already talked about the days we’d be visiting each other, but those were in passing.
