My husband is the only son and has two sisters. My father in law often complains to me that I don’t call or text him enough (which is true but I’m not a phone person and speak to them maybe once every few weeks which is enough for me). I’ve noticed he’s always praising his sister’s daughter in law. Like on the family groupchats and in person and I’ve just ignored it like whatever. Today my husband handed me the phone and at the beginning it was the usual complaint that I don’t talk or call enough. Then I changed the topic mentioning our Christmas plans to visit Europe which he started to mention that his sister’s other son and wife live there and his sister was saying her sons wife is amazing etc etc. So my FIL proceeds to say to me yeah she has gotten really really good daughter in laws both of them and I just went hehe like what am I supposed to do about it? And he playfully goes I didn’t take your name I wasn’t talking about you
I just changed the subject and then I said I have to go. I’m irked and irritated. I haven’t said anything to my husband but yeah
