So this has always made me ponder… and I would like input from others.
A couple years ago a boyfriend of mine went through my text messages and saw a guy I hooked up with a couple years previous had been texting me months before he read the messages. It was fairly innocent, he asked how I was etc. flirted a bit. At this time I wasn’t exclusive with my bf, and when the convo became a little too flirty I dropped the convo.
Fast forward, my boyfriend read it and told me to text him to never text you again and block his number. I did as he said, as I had nothing to hide/ need to talk to this old fling.
Then a couple weeks later I get a WhatsApp text from that old fling saying he believes it was a boyfriend that made me send that, and if I ever needed to talk he was there etc…
Was it bold of the guy to send that ? Or is this some kind of manipulation tactic to reach out and appear almost empathetic/ comforting? / ego boosting? Any thoughts ?
