I've found that with my friends in Europe they almost always (like 99% of the time, barring something like being drunk) message first to check if it's ok to call and/or I want to talk on the phone. With my American friends they never message first, they just call out of the blue which, honestly, irritates me. Is this a common phenomenon here in the US or is it just the Americans I'm friends with?
