Talked online for a week with this guy then moved to phone conversation for a few days. He set a date with me tonight. Saturdays are my prefered date nights. He mentions to me Sat is a good night for him too, but he has work earlier on in the day. Ok cool. He also tells me heʻs off on Sunday. We both agree – Saturday at 7:30pm.
Tonight comes. Heʻs texting me throughout the day. Iʻm hanging with my family. I tell him after I hang out w/my family Iʻm going to take a nap and then get ready and meet him at the spot. 7pm comes I courtesy text him saying Iʻm getting ready and Iʻll text him when Iʻm on my way since I live close by the date spot. He confirms and says heʻs doing the same (getting ready).
Iʻm done getting ready 7:20pm and tell him Iʻm on my way. He texts me and says, "I thought weʻre meeting up at 8pm." I tell him what? Iʻm on my way already and that we both confirmed via phone conversation the night before for 7:30pm. He calls me and I ask him again about the confirmation for 7:30pm and THEN HE HANGS UP ON ME!
He proceeds to text me that heʻll be right there. Shocked on the audacity I asked did you hang up on me? And he tries to ignore that he just completely disrespected me AGAIN by hanging up. Texts again heʻll be there soon.
I just donʻt get these guys?! Why has dating gotten so bad? Itʻs like it's worse than ever! Iʻm glad that he showed his true colors early on, but damn these men canʻt even get it together for a first fkn date. It wasnʻt even some crazy date literally just meeting up for drinks at a spot thats convenient for both of us.
Also how did he think he was going to hang up on me and then think I would magically want to endure a whole date night with a man who would be 30 minutes late to our first date AND hung up on me AND couldnʻt even take accountability AND respect me or my time?
