Alright everyone, bit of a daft question but I'm curious. What I mean by the title is I don't mean different locations of the same chain (like one McDonald's vs another McDonalds). I mean different independent restaurants that serve the same type of food.
So, for the UK, a lot of people would say Chinese chippies are a good example of this, they're everywhere, and they're so incredibly inconistent. The one I've always gone to is amazing, I'd sell my nan for a couple of sui mai from there, but the other Chinese place about 100m away is completely vile, same menu, massively different quality.
So I want to know, what's the American equivalent? What type of food/restaurant has the biggest quality difference from place to place?
