Hello! I have a question about nature in France, and I hope someone can answer it 🙂 I'm on vacation in France, near Tours, and I'm going to Toulouse. I've seen a lot of strange little white balls in the pine trees. They look like the nests of larvae, like those of the pine processionary moth (Thaumotopea pityocampa), a dangerous insect. Are these indeed the larvae? They are very dangerous for dogs, for example, and also for some people. Are there many of them in France? Or are there other insects that make similar nests in trees, but are not dangerous?
Thanks!
