I (F38) brought home a rescue cat yesterday to my husband (45) and two kids (4 + 2). It was a surprise to them and my husband was furious. I thought he’d be a little annoyed but not this. We lost our dog of 13 years approx 4 months ago and I didn’t realize how badly he still felt about it. He said he’s not ready for another pet and doesn’t want anything to do with it.
I have a big pit in my stomach, and feel like I could be sick. I don’t know what to do to fix the situation. The kids are obviously happy, and I know we have a lot of love to give a pet, but its not fair on my husband or the cat to keep her around if he’s not going to come around. Any tips for repairing the situation?
