So I've been working at a restaurant since early last year, just part-time… it's a fast food place with mostly people way younger than me (i'm mid 30's).

anyways, all year long i've worked four 8-hour days every week, and it's been a lot for me…

throughout this year, i have taken one week off to recover and avoid burnout… January, March, July and this month of November have all included me taking one week off.

anyways, about five months ago i asked to reduce my hours to alternating 3-days and 4-days each week…

my manager said she couldn't honor this because she's short-handed, and i accepted it and instead of standing up for myself and my well-being, along with my desire to help people, i continued working 4-days each week.

i had a very tough day early last month and was crying at work, and my manager said to me that she's been trying to make it happen with my 3-days alternating schedule, but she's just been so short-handed.

this past week I politely told her that i need to do 3-days beginning on my next schedule, and she honored that this time so that's a relief.

it took me a LOT to begin working again, beause before this job i hadn't worked for the past year due to effects of my CPTSD, severe stress, depression etc… my manager doesn't know about any of this btw.

all in all, with my four weeks i've taken off this year, along with reducing my hours to 3-days every other week alternating with 4-days, should i feel bad for any of this?

tl;dr needed to cut hours due to ptsd
