Hey all. Sorry, my flair says otherwise, but I just turned 30 last week and after spending my 20s bumbling about I want to really start taking things more seriously. One of the big ones is money – I'm not "just scraping by" but I feel like I could be doing better.
Right now I've got about $10k in savings, partially from a car accident settlement and partially from the parts of my paycheck I didn't use since graduating college. I feel like I could try investing in something but I've heard plenty of horror stories of people using their savings for stuff like that and losing a lot. Does anyone have advice that actually worked for them in the long run, and isn't just some optimistic crypto-scam day-trader nonsense? I want to be cautious and reasonable with it.
