This is the day where we should remember all the men in our life who uplift, inspire, support us, their contribution makes the world brighter. May our courage, strength and kindness make a positive impact on our society.

Tell us a story about yourself or the men in your life?

Edit: keep the comments positive as positiveness comes from within and you can never be positive about yourself when you say negatively about others

  1. Happy day to the men out there! I know it’s rough, especially when no one appreciates you. But you can always start by appreciating yourself a bit more by doing things for you not others for once.

  2. Well a couple years ago I went to a renaissance fair for the first time with my friends. I had a party city sword and crown. The people there were amazing. Anyway when we were leaving there was this little girl with her parents. She poked me with my plastic party city sword so I did my best acting and I said “She has slain the king, the kingdom is now hers!” Her parents laughed and told me “You don’t have to do that.” I replied “I don’t know what you’re talking about. The kingdom is now hers!”

  3. Hopefully this comment section doesn’t end up a “sort by controversial” kind of post. Like the last one did.

Remember to reach out to the other guys in your life, regularly.

  4. I only found out about this day today. Well, congratulations to you, fellow Redditor men, on this day! You guys are actually the first people I’ve congratulated, lol.

  5. im the first male in my entire family tree going to college and that is an achievement that no one can take from me

  6. Happy International Men’s day 🥳

Hope you do something fun with your loved ones. If you’re lonely, treat yourself to something nice. Appreciating yourself is the best gift you can give yourself. Validation from others isn’t that important, it’s a bonus. Be kind and friendly but keep expectations in check, it’s the thief of joy.

  7. My little brothers! The coolest peeps.

The youngest is closer to my personality and we love to playfully bicker but also talk about school subjects as we are both bit of nerds. It’s so fun when someone actually engages with your ponderings and hypotheticals. We can argue without fighting. Lots of good discussions but also laughter. We used to annoy our mom by laughing at some stupid inside jokes and choking on our food at the dinner table.

The second youngest is a more sensitive soul, but in a good way. He is highly empathetic, philosophical, considerate and really good with people. He is also really smart in things he gets interested in and my adhd buddy. He tends to be my biggest supporter at times, especially when it came to my studies and now career in ICT. He is genuine. He openly admires some of my traits and skills but only when he truly means it, and he also wants to learn them from me. That works really well for us because I like to teach people. I also admire him back and have learnt things from him. His social skills, wisdom and empathy are on another level.

We grew up with an alcoholist father, and while our mom was caring and a proper adult, when we visited our father (decided in court) we three were each other’s only source of safety and support. And we managed, together.

They’re my best friends and I’m proud I have such kind and wise little brothers. Happy to have them in my life.

  8. Is it me or is this not a common holiday? Like I just found out today that this holiday even existed.

But anyways I would like to send it love and peace to all my fellow men.. the men who provide for and protect their societies. I’m grateful for everything you do, and am proud of your achievements. Keep up the good work fellas

  9. We should also remember that men never have it as easy as they try to make it look. Even if he looks fine, ask him how he’s doing and wait around for an answer.

  10. Happy Men’s International day to all men (men of color, white men, gay men, straight men, bisexual men, transmen, handicapped men, short men, atheist men, religious men, fathers and single men)

Real men shouldn’t be selfish and shouldn’t care only about their siblings and their families.

Real men oppose all kinds of violence against all genders and all races.

Real men hire individuals based on their qualifications and suitability for the job, not based on their gender and their attractiveness.

Real men respect gay men and all genders treating everyone with kindness and fairness, not just women because of their attraction to women (your brother or your future son could be gay).

Real men control themselves and are not animalistic.

Real men can be ballet dancers, kindergarten teachers, nurses, and househusbands, the earliest ballet dancers were men, male nurses outnumber female nurses in 13 Sub-Saharan African countries.

Real men can have any kinds of names like flowers and nature names (Florian, Basil, Marion, Dylan, Lauren (it was originally male name before women hijacked the name like many historically male names),
