In England, we study the compulsory GCSES for 2 (some do 3) years with 100% of my grade for each subject being based on end of 2 year external/standardised exams. Sometimes it’s different for some subjects with modular coursework. This is from ages 14 (sometimes 13) to 16.
Then I did the optional A Levels where for 2 subjects 20% of my grade was based on coursework while the other based on end of 2 year external/standardised exams. I studied this from 16 to 18. I did another subject.
