"Duvets have been popular in Europe for several years, but recently, more and more Americans are discovering the benefits of this fluffy, pillow-like bedding."
- Duvets have been popular for decades, not "several years".
- What the hell do Americans use, if not a duvet?
EDIT:
This isn't agressive – just a weird UK thing/way of writing.
Seems you DO use duvets but they're called quilts and you wash the whole thing.
In the UK, the duvet is rarely washed (maybe once a year?) but the duvet cover is washed frequently. Means we can change the look of the room easily by having various covers. In the winter, we have brushed cotton covers – a red tartan one at Christmas. In the summer, they're lighter and more flowers and muted colours.
