TL;DR
So, I’ve had two close friends since college (2018) — Abhishek and Rajeev. We’ve always been a trio, super close. I’ve been in a relationship for 7 years, and Abhishek got into one about a year ago. I’ve always been open with him — he knows my girlfriend, has her number, and has even met her. Me and My Girlfriend share our office stories, future plans.
But here’s what hurts — in this whole year, Abhishek has never mentioned introducing us to his girlfriend.He has never once said, “Let’s meet my girlfriend.” He never talks to her in front of me, never shared her number, and she doesn’t even follow me on Instagram (though my girlfriend follows him). It feels like he’s hiding her from me and Rajeev on purpose.
Whenever my girlfriend calls and Abhishek is around, I’m chill — I even pass the phone and let them talk. But when his girlfriend calls, he instantly hides it. I don’t get why. I’ve never done anything to make him feel uncomfortable or mistrust me.
I don’t want to overthink it, but it really breaks me. I just wish he trusted me the same way I’ve always trusted him.
