Met this girl and her flatmate on the same day — we’re all in our late 20s to early 30s. I liked one of them, but she had a boyfriend at the time. Her flatmate was single, and we all exchanged Instagrams.
A while later, the flatmate invited me to a party. She made a move on me, and we ended up back at her place. It was pretty clear it was just a one-night thing, and we left it at that.
Some time after, I heard that the girl I originally liked had broken up with her boyfriend. I didn’t reach out though, since I’d been involved with her flatmate — even though that flatmate has since moved abroad, so they’re no longer living together.
Last weekend, I ran into the girl I liked at a nightclub. We said hi and went our separate ways at first. Later, after a few drinks, I went to find her. She messaged that she was in the loo but came over afterward. We danced for a bit, I was a bit drunk so I started getting closer, but since I’m 6’3” and she’s around 5’4” we weren’t face to face so I carried her with one arm and put her on a step that was close and then danced face to face. We kind of hit it off since then, I liked her neck and after we made out and danced until she mentioned that her ex was watching us and maybe we should stop. So we said goodbye and didn’t talk for the rest of the night.
That was on Saturday, and I take care to time my messages so I don’t come across as needy, so 4 days after, I texted her asking her out, and she said yes! She can’t this week, and I’ll be away next week for work, so we’ll see each other in about two weeks.
Right now, I’m in a good place — fit, focused, and working on myself. I’m at a point where I want my next relationship to be serious and hopefully long-term.
My question is: Do you think she can take me seriously after I slept with her flatmate? And should I bring that up?
TL;DR:
I hooked up once with the flatmate of a girl I actually liked. That flatmate has now moved away. The girl I liked is single now, and we’ve reconnected — we kissed and have a date planned. Should I tell her about the past, and will she take me seriously?
