I went for an urgent dental appointment today because I can't get any other type of dental appointment. The bloke looked in my mouth and went "ooh yeah, you do want that sorting out". I was like "great, let's get it done, I'm here, you're here, get your pliers out"
But he told me if I wanted to get it done urgently (which I needed to) I'd have to pay £250, otherwise I could wait anywhere from a few weeks to a few months and get an NHS appointment.
Why is it so hard for dentists to offer NHS appointments? Why are all dentists seemingly not offering them? How hard would it be to mandate each practice take on a certain number of patients?
