One particular acquaintance that I met at a large gathering was very friendly and frequently came to talk to me the first few times we encountered each other. This individual used to seem genuinely happy to see me. One day, he changed and started being exceptionally loud and friendly with others, and barely saying hello to me and avoiding eye contact. I didn’t see a problem with it, but after I saw him come over to where I was sitting, as I was engaged in a conversation and unable to turn away, and greet the person next to me and then leave, it crossed my mind that I might have done something to offend him.

I think he probably just likes to make his rounds and socialize with everyone, but he does not smile anymore when he sees me, and I hope that my reserved personality has not been perceived as offensive.
