I'm finding oftentimes when I ask how folks' weekends were, they respond with a few points and then ask "how about you?" But I feel like it's just out of formality/ politeness and they don't actually care, so I pick one of the points they mentioned responded with and ask more about that. Is that seen as rude? I don't have any indication from them that they actually care one way or the other about how my weekend was, but I know sometimes folks will avoid that for the sake of avoiding conflict. Idk, just something I've been wondering about.
