  1. Today is my ‘onomastico’ so we are having cake for breakfast!

Do you celebrate your name day? Do you know when it is?!

  2. Random thought, but what are your favorite non touristy things to do in a new country? Personally I love going to shopping centres, flea/farmers markets, thrifting, go to grocery stores, I buy makeup and skincare, liquor stores and buying local gins

Apparently the Trader Joe’s tote bag is going viral for some weird reason but Americans just find Trader Joe’s to be a normal grocery store to them. And then these people wear it as a fashion statement idk. These resell for a lot online too, I dont get it?

I have grocery store membership cards from other countries idk

There’s also a guy called Ken Abroad I watch that kinda inspired me, he likes to get haircuts everywhere, recently he got a cut in NYC and LA. I’ve never done that personally since I have long hair and no need for frequent cuts but the closest to that is I dyed my hair red in Thailand before and so much cheaper than here in Europe.

  3. Yesterday’s prompt was [ornate](https://www.deviantart.com/tereyaglikedi/art/1253889423?action=published). I enjoyed this so much, I ended up drawing two (also I didn’t love the first one). Today’s prompt is “deal” and I don’t know how to deal with it yet 🙈

My husband said he wanted to do the cooking yesterday. Most of the time we decide and cook together. So I got boiled eggs in mustard sauce 😂 I did eat it and love that he made it for me, but I don’t know if I would make it for myself.

The worst thing about chatting here is that I can’t tell you about my research projects (or also the best thing maybe since it’s nice to talk about other stuff than work for once). Normally it’s not a big deal but my recent research project is just so cool. It’s like mediaeval forensic science or something. It’s completely different from my usual stuff, too.

It’s nice and sunny here. Good day to go strolling up and down the high streets and having a nice espresso somewhere while watching the crowd.

  4. Going to watch Chess (musical) with my parents today. I watched it once years back, but this is in a new theatre. I wonder if it’s the same cast. It’s gonna be interesting if they use the same translations as well, or if they basically redid it

I also heard a fantastic word in Polish yesterday: “jutrać”. I don’t believe it is actually in the dictionary, but it basically means “to procrastinate”, but the direct translation would be “to tomorrow” (as a verb)

  5. Started my day by having coffee and watching the day’s first stage from the Central European Rally, which is driven around the tripoint of Germany, Czechia and Austria. Stages in all three countries.

That region is so stereotypically Central-European looking. The rolling Alpine foothills, the small villages built of half-timbered houses, the big open fields cut by narrow squiggly paved roads. Like, when Americans think of Germany, this is what they think of.

  6. We are just doing some shopping down by the train station, the area where all the ‘ethnic’ shops are, and discovered a new Chinese restaurant!

They don’t really speak any Italian and very little English either, but we have pointed at stuff and it looks very promising…the noodles are all hand made after you order, the woman looks very talented so hopefully it will be great!

  7. Lmao we bought new clothes for my husband and got a 5 l beer barrel for free. Gotta love Germans

The cashier, after seeing the clothes we bought, looked at my husband and said, someone has been dragged to buy new stuff, it seems. And the husband pouted and nodded. It was very funny.

  8. Doing a search for “retro jeans”, hoping to find some 70s and 80s inspired cuts, about 90% of the hits are the low-rise flared jeans of the 2000s. I am **not** enjoying this part of getting old.
