I woke up in the middle of the night, from a dream where I was trekking on a mountain in.. Kyrgyzstan I think?
Anyway this morning my partner said ”Last night you were speaking Russian in your sleep” 😉 Quite something, considering I can barely speak some basic words of the language!
Do you ever talk in your sleep?
[Yesterday’s prompt was trunk!](https://www.deviantart.com/tereyaglikedi/art/Inktober-2025-Day-14-Trunk-1252610960) My favorite so far.
A few internet friends who are following Inktober asked for my drawings, so I will be sending out a few around Christmas 😀
I saw a post about Kirk getting the freedom medal or something, and people were discussing their lunch ideas under it. It was pretty funny.
Do you guys also get round mails at work about mundane stuff? I don’t know if this happens in companies, but at research institutes it seems like half the round mails are about missing stuff. “who took the forks in the tea kitchen 2.43?” “Our stool is missing, please bring it back!!!” “Can you please bring your plates back to the canteen???” I don’t know if scientists are just unable to sort their shit, or if people here have a very short fuse when it comes to missing items.
A Finnish redditor just published a screenshot of an AI summary, stating the “pakkanen” record for October is +5,2C, and the record coldest temperature for October is -51,5C.
The problem is that the Finnish word “pakkanen” means frost/below zero. A 5.2 degree pakkanen means -5.2 and a pakkanen of +5.2 contradicts itself.
Just one, pretty mild, example of how things go out of whack with these systems.
I haven’t looked at the stock market since spring almost at all. All summer I didn’t even open the broker app or read financial news or anything like that. I’m not starting to feel like it’d be fun to play with money again, so I’ve been looking at my holdings and what’s been happening to them in the past half a year.
There was a very small position I had in an American uranium mining company that last time I looked in the spring was down like 40% from where I bought. Now in the past six months the stock is up by 517%, lmao. What a turnaround. I have no idea what happened. Too bad there wasn’t much money in there, so I’m still not rich.
