Do you call your colleagues in teams without checking if you see them in green, or do you check if they’re free to receive a call?

I'm a millennial, I always check first if I can call someone. I never just assume because someone is in green that I can call.

For me green means I can text them, red is an email, do not disturb is means try and add someone in cc in the email.

I have this colleague that usually calls for things that are better done via email, it's usually a rambling of technical issues and I need to end up with a paper trail anyway because they are very disperse.

But yeah if I don't pick up immediately, they start calling non stop. I think they are around my same age.

So just for fun. Is that something that others do?
