When I moved into my house about 12 years back, we found that the biggest bedroom had this sink in one of the corners for no apparent reason besides it was there; only no running water to it as the previous people had turned it off with the room not being used. We ended up removing due to it not being needed, but the question of why it was there still baffles me.
The house isn’t really that old in comparison to other british houses, about mid to late 70s we think it had been built and assumed it was there due to the local area being still in the shale mining era, but we really don’t know. It’s council owned so wasn’t added by the previous lot apparently. Nor did any of the other houses around us have this odd sink(but we think this might’ve just been taken out like ours now).
Is there any rhythm or reason behind why a single sink would’ve been added? it was only that room, with the other bedrooms not having one. If anyone else had something like this, i’d like to know why and what it was for, cause i’ve just dubbed mine to shale miners but am not certain haha
