When we bought our current property the conservatory came with a log burner already installed which was signed off by a HETAS registered installer.

This summer we had a company come to insulate our conservatory roof from the inside make it a plastered ceiling so it feels more like a room and usable all year.

As we’re now approaching winter we were thinking about firing up the log burner in the coming months, but I’ve just realised that (stupidly) I don’t know anything about the insulation installed, the distance that was left between the insulation and the flue that goes through the roof, etc. and now I’m concerned it may be a fire hazard.

I’ve contacted the ceiling installer for more info but just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this? Also is it even possible for a HETAS installer to come check the work retrospectively to confirm if the log burner is still safe? The roof is corrugated polycarbonate so I don’t think they’d even be able to see through to check the distance from the flue

Any advice or insight appreciated!
