I ordered a burger meal on JustEat. I bit into it and a piece of what seems to be that crimped metal from a scouring pad ripped through my tongue.
I was bleeding, dealt with it, chucked the food, kept the piece of metal and reported it to JustEat.
Firstly, I got an email back claiming they cannot refund me based on an accusation. They have to contact the takeaway.
11 days go by and I receive an email saying the takeaway have denied it and said that would never happen so I must be mistaken. They can't help me more, I need to contact them directly.
I escalated, explaining 2 very large men delivered my order and I am a young female living alone. I said I didn't feel comfortable ringing them on their ordering line to basically argue? They came back and told me I needed to.
I rang the takeaway and no one there really spoke English so it took a while but I managed to get my point across to which I got a mouthful of abuse and told to go to JustEat.
I have emailed them again saying this has left a really bad taste in my mouth (pun intended), and I would be filing a chargeback with my bank. They replied and told me to file a complaint with the FSA.
I am baffled and don't know where to go from here. I would usually just leave it but this meal was close to £25 just for me and I didn't eat any of it.
