Smacking your own child is legal in England (not Scotland or Wales I don't think), as long as you don't leave a mark or use an object other than your hand, and as long as it's "reasonable punishment" (this is not defined any further in the law).
I'm curious about people's thoughts about this. Any thoughts are welcome.
