I hope this isn’t a silly question.

When did it become such an embedded nationwide pastime to drink tea as much as we do? I’ve never found a solid backstory or reasoning behind the love for it aside from tradition and true British patriotism.

I can remember starting to drink it when I was around 7 and earlier. There was never any push by any family members, one day I was offered a tea and the rest is history.

Have probably drunk it more or less everyday for the past 20+ years now. Can’t get enough of it!

Would it be inline in popularity to Argentina and them drinking Yerba Mate?
