I (26 M) decided to screw my insecurity and other terrible thoughts, so I decided to go out there and give it a shot at dating in general. My friend suggested we should go to volleyball as I'll get to meet a lot of new people there. So, I'm at this volleyball court during the weekend and start talking to random people and its going good like asking them if they play here regularly, they must be good in playing and all, do they live here, are they studying or working, etc.
I took the courage to talk to this woman, and we were just talking normally as friends do and trying to get to know her; by the way, she works in a restaurant close to my work place; I even spoke to her friend about this woman's cooking skills since she mentioned she's into cooking and all and her friends love it (kind of teasing). Everything was going 'kinda' well, and I asked what she does for fun or if she's into board games (since I and my friends usually play them every weekend like Catan), and she's like yeah kind of and its fun but Catan is tough to play since it needs a lot of strategy (true though). I then asked her if she would like to play with us sometime coz we play regularly and it'll be fun, she's like I'll see maybe.
Now, this is where I think, I messed up. She was leaving with her friends, so I don't know why I was trying to get her number or socials, but I just told her 'I can teach you and you'll be good in no time, since I've played so many times' and she's like ok cool, she'll let me know and just went home, but I think it seemed like yeah ok weirdo, you look desperate and I don't think we'll meet again.
God, I've been regretting saying this the next day i.e. today and I wanted to vent this out here. I think I can talk about a lot of stuff, keep the conversation going, but 'ending' is what I tend to mess up and then I realize and regret the next day that I should've said this and that, now she may think ew.
I genuinely want to improve my skills with women and I'm all ears to suggestions and corrections (and go ahead you can say I'm a douche bag) as to what I can do better the next time.
EDIT: I didn't have my phone with me at the time since I kept it away from the courts outside, so I didn't have any opportunity to grab her IG or number (I don't even know how to ask for that as well)
