I live in Canada so we get a lot of imported candy from the states. The biggest tell that it's imported from the states (aside from the lack of french and OZ measurements) is the fact that candy that comes in small boxes always has a bag inside the box that the candy is actually in. Boxed candy made here is just in the box with no liner or anything. It's always just seemed redundant to have it in a bag in a box and I was wondering if this is a really common thing down there and if so why, or if they just do it to protect things they ship up.
