I 20M was working a shift recently where I needed help but no one was answering my calls for help because some of the headsets weren’t working properly. This lasted 6 hours , where i was shouted at , ridiculed and scoffed at by customers due to the fact I couldn't get anyone to hop on the tills. I got frustrated and vented to a coworker/friend 20F, asking if hers worked. She said it didn’t and that she had other things to do. Out of frustration I said something like, “well, you could’ve just found another one,” which she didn’t like. She later told me she doesn’t like people telling her how to do her job and that I should never do that again.
I can admit that my comment came out wrong I was venting at the situation not trying to criticise her. I want to smooth things over but It's hard because I feel she heavily overreacted.
TL;DR: I (20M) vented to a coworker/friend (20F) about headset issues at work, said she could’ve swapped hers, and she got upset. I admit I worded it badly but feel she overreacted, how do I smooth things over?
