I met a new colleague yesterday. We were talking about this and that, and he said that he’s interested in music. And I of course leapt at it and asked what he likes. It turns out he only listens to 18th century French organ music. I… know nothing about it 😅 Do you have any extreme specific likes like this?
Later, I was listening to some short clips on ARD classic. They often feature little solos in orchestral works and focus on players like percussion that one usually doesn’t see. First of all, oboists, especially peachy German ones, get really really red when playing and every time it looks like they’ll pass out. Second, how expensive is it to train as a percussionist? They play so many instruments! A timpani already costs as much as a car (then again, so do many other instruments).
I just read that some people in the US were expecting ‘The Rapture ‘ yesterday… there were even cases of people who sold or gave away their possessions,as they were expecting to be carried up to heaven.
I wonder how they are feeling this morning?
Did anyone see that story about the Japanese teen who tried to kill his uncle by poisoning his miso soup? (With oleander).
His uncle survived and the teen has been arrested and confessed.
Apparently the reason he gave was his uncle’s snoring, which was ‘driving him mad’!
