I was about to propose then I found out she might’ve been cheating.

I was ready to propose to my girlfriend of almost a decade. We’ve always been that couple same humor, same hobbies, rarely fight, and when we do it’s over quick. She’s close with my family, I’m close with hers, we travel a lot together. Honestly, it’s felt solid and easy for years.

But about a month ago, she suddenly started feeling… off. Her “I love yous” sounded half-hearted, she got irritated over small stuff, and she just seemed distant. I asked if something was wrong, and she said it was nothing, just stress, and that she still loved me. I wanted to believe her.

Then a few days ago, I remembered an old phone of hers in my drawer. I charged it up, and her Google account was still signed in. Curiosity got the best of me, and what I found broke me. Search after search, almost daily for weeks: “I cheated on him,” “I cheated many times,” “should I break up,” “ending a long-term relationship.

I’ve been wrecked ever since. Haven’t eaten properly, can’t sleep, and I don’t know what to do. I haven’t confronted her yet we’re long distance right now for work, but I’ll see her next week.

Do I bring this up? Do I wait and see if she tells me herself? I love her, but right now I feel like my whole future just cracked apart.

TL;DR: Was about to propose to my girlfriend of 8 years, but found repeated searches on her old phone about cheating on me and breaking up. Haven’t confronted her yet—don’t know how to handle it.
