  1. I read that Spain joined the list of countries that said they’ll not participate in Eurovision if Israel does. Good for them, and good for Slovenia to get the ball rolling on this. I am curious what’ll come out of it.

Is there any urban legend that you guys want to believe? I guess mine is that one about the teacher asking the students for an example of risk-taking, and the student just writing “THIS”. Like I know it’s not real, probably (mostly because of the exam question itself) but it would be cool if it were.

  2. I didn’t realize that photos of yourself are somewhat necessary in certain countries outside of the more internationized sectors. And date of birth is a strange thing to put on a resume.

  3. I saw something quite strange yesterday, sitting outside a café in the small Moroccan town of Taroudant.

3 big white guys, walking down the middle of the street, shouting at the bemused passers-by…. one of them kicked a passing taxi.

I could understand that they were Dutch but not what had happened or why they were doing that… perhaps they were drunk, though that is quite uncommon for foreign tourists in Morocco!

  4. Do you change the skin color of your emoji on your devices? Say a thumbs up.

    👍

I never bothered, but I noticed that a lot of people I interact with do.

What’s interesting to me is to find that certain people I would just assume are “white” use oddly specific ones.

  5. Yesterday night I was at the soccer derby between Helsingborgs IF and Landskrona BoIS at Helsingborg’s classic home arena Olympia, With 16,000 seats Olympia is one of Sweden’s largest arenas outside of the three major cities – and one of few that retains its original name instead of using a sponsor name.

The cities of Helsingborg (120,000 inhabitants) and Landskrona (35,000 inhabitants) are only slightly more than 20 kilometers (13 miles) apart on the west coast of Scania and have quite a fierce soccer rivaly with a lot of feelings and prestige involved.

We were nearly 11,600 spectators, which is very high for a game between two mid table teams in the Swedish second tier. There was a great atmosphere and a greay support for both the home and away team.

Unfortunately the game itself ended 0-0 and generally felt a bit mediocre, even though Landskrona was the better and dominating team, The mediocre play I guess was to be quite expectied – but still, it would of course have been even more fun with some goals and a more exciting game on the field as well, which would of course have heigthened the atmoshpere even more.

    Some phots from the game: [One](https://scontent.farn1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/548631490_1505384587134162_596097056462245544_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=Xf9GqJqc524Q7kNvwGoarU1&_nc_oc=AdkkFu_KVXZBGr3ov1BBnFHvN82VneImJ0njbIReJhc5jsZrvZK1LgjKoNCoYigNsQd_unizx-GVxNXGwWodERZs&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.farn1-2.fna&_nc_gid=SZ6qGD8JxNUYXjG3ROdgTA&oh=00_AfZFodb9t9HAiFGg5H3YXlRrb7ZAeBzWvaj1lKXl3mczGg&oe=68D05A86) [Two](https://scontent.farn1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/548993280_1505384660467488_68417052687658695_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=OJLP-UtnQg0Q7kNvwGdAFP-&_nc_oc=AdldGuUKxz0DxQv7Wg1qxTBIYbWAn3XNuuo8fxwN1ojW13EJoiAN9WhS2ucoYQZI8qatQoqAZDSALpWL4h0oj0YM&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.farn1-2.fna&_nc_gid=zKu49s8GtdZhLGX6aWQpnA&oh=00_AfY3o1YhpCjqzUpJlzbVDAwygCbrKiKp3bjnDxj4VaZQUg&oe=68D04813) [Three](https://scontent.farn1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/548203530_1505384603800827_5519188088166161490_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=uxew9i54VskQ7kNvwHbuxNh&_nc_oc=AdnR8CviQ8Z89cORfkoWytO68JC8H4oydOs49mDc5i4iACT8aINSHWwB5NutlHJZi-0NZsorSPzwCJk0ZIKxuge1&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.farn1-2.fna&_nc_gid=ZNzsnXee392RsW85yNwMyA&oh=00_Afbg22dqEfkhiFGJs89TZGNQP7yCRliA0Ulv79uWOWeeQg&oe=68D062AA) [Four](https://scontent.farn1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/547508383_1505384670467487_1760934727377816298_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=hZeyd_eZePgQ7kNvwF-p_hv&_nc_oc=AdnncyeA0Pcj7B68_MEAjm2JWsnz0h-YZu8gW5bYSHe5nQ3ab4QN9XR2g9NIWEOWumV5SisTSWBIaBcxa9HRiw_s&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.farn1-2.fna&_nc_gid=jOr2augedx8TwChvpeVmsA&oh=00_AfYoVQ9ek4XvUaqAGqWn4P-T_FxhbmYlMja8XdhAvu63ow&oe=68D037B6) [Five](https://scontent.farn1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/549676165_1505384593800828_2115004250210285704_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=AqzkpRBUpZ4Q7kNvwE15DBJ&_nc_oc=AdkomxzPGfinVBb0WDznSARaa_lDpwDUXCHNoqhxdEdQGcgnsf0mPObJXzj712KR3ZqCq-APRIouTzXdzVv8cv9r&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.farn1-2.fna&_nc_gid=RkeDpn2vEyU3VUqd1VGPZA&oh=00_AfY0v9p2r6XFYgqkHYz1K6VGXJlRq2PyO7TjRR1eCTphqQ&oe=68D0608F) [Six](https://scontent.farn1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/549242178_1505384583800829_2464769063480006352_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=dr5ZOHYwmA0Q7kNvwF4peaI&_nc_oc=AdmF61vCF0pGELRdpqGuT_4wQd0SuxgfpPtNLp07p2oqix_AC7T3hd7nSusWQBzTeNlV6yj9G08y3UnnsuFg7oVL&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent.farn1-2.fna&_nc_gid=uAOMSh4pbuRSsAZRjEMYjw&oh=00_AfabzPaz5BoSb3PvNgdMzANnsrQNE2ax6x1-5VCX1T32wQ&oe=68D05419)

It’s Helsingborg in red and blue, and Landskrona in black and white.

Both teams have definitely seen much better days. Helsingborg are ranked 7th in the all-time table of Swedish soccer and have become Swedish champions 5 times and latest played in the top tier in 2022. Landskrona are ranked 15th in the all-time table but have never been Swedish champions and last played in the top tier in 2005.

  6. Here’s a take: I think birches are ugly trees. Any birch I have ever seen would have been better if it was some other tree. A spruce, pine, maybe an aspen. The white bark of a birch just doesn’t look right to me. A tree shouldn’t look like that. It should be brown, or at least some other dark colour. But white? You’re telling me this isn’t a tree that grows on some alien planet? No way.

I got big respect for birch as a firewood, it’s truly goated in that sense. Easy to get a fire going, burns with a nice flame and the bark us unbeaten as kindling. Only way I tolerate seeing a birch tree is if I know it is bound to be sawn down for firewood.
