According to online dating coaches targeted towards women (like me), men can not be autistic, can not be shy, can not be socially anxious, etc.

As crazy as it sounds, not all men are overconfident beasts who think with their third leg. Not all men who like you will stare you down. Not all men will seek proximity.

I know we like clear answers and so do I (especially as someone who likes predictable patterns), but the way online dating coaches just pretend EVERYONE is the same, especially men is HARMFUL.

They cartoonishly depict men as a monolith and when he does something slightly off script it’s ‘he’s not into you’. Which can be true, but is it always?
