So there's this girl I've been on a few dates with and we've been talking a lot between them and have plans for several more dates and just other fun things to do. She mentioned she likes this specific designer brand and she likes makeup, specifically various lip products. That designer has a cosmetics line that had a gift set of one of those fancy ph colour changing lip oils, a lip scrub, and a nice little makeup bag. It was on sale, so I got it for her as a present. I mentioned this to my coworkers because I thought it was an adorable present that was perfect for her and also matched her aesthetic so well and I was super excited about it, and two of them said "Oh what's the occasion? Is it her birthday?" I said no, one of them went "Oh… so are you making it official then?" To which I also said no and she seemed to think it was a little odd. I don't have a ton of dating experience so idk if it's weird to give someone a gift after a few dates? There's no special occasion really. She just likes these sorts of things so I thought it'd be nice, but my coworkers seemed to think it was weird so I figured I'd ask. Should I wait a bit before giving it to her? Is it too much?
I'm also a tailor so before our first date I knew she liked to wear bows in her hair and I had some pretty scrap fabric that I thought she'd like so I made it into a bow for her, and she really seemed to like it, and all my coworkers seemed to think That was adorable. So I am… confused. Is the hair bow fine but the lip oil weird because the hair bow was just something that took me half an hour to make and cost nothing in materials since it was made from scrap fabric, while the lip oil is weird because I spent money on it? I do not understand the rules here someone send help.
