Hi everyone, I'm looking for some help/ advice as I find it hard to decide…
I met my boyfriend (29,m) 3 years ago in Australia while I (29,f) was doing a semester abroad. We fell in love during that time and started our relationship while travelling together. After about 9 months, I returned to Europe to finish my studies, and he later moved to my home country to live with me. We've been living here together for around 2 years, but he has realised that he doesn't like living in my country and wants to move back to Australia.
Now I'm torn about what to do. I really enjoyed the landscaped and people in Australia and I could probably find a job there after a while. What makes this really hard for me is the long-term perspective: he doesn't want to move back to my country, and while he's open living somewhere else in Europe, he's not sure if that would work out long-term either. I'm close to my family, so leaving my home country permanently and being that far away permanently feels really difficult. At the same time, I've been thinking for a while that I should at least try moving as I'm only 29 and could see where our journey takes us.
What would you do in my situation? I'm really grateful for any advice!
TL;DR Met my boyfriend in Australia, he now wants to move back there but I can't see myself leaving Europe permanently. Not sure what to do about our long-term future
