We were only dating a few months at the time of his friend’s wedding. He didn’t get a plus one so I was not there, but I picked him up at the end of the night. He told me a few months later what happened and I obviously asked a lot of questions. He said he didn’t initiate the kiss on the dance floor but admitted he kissed back originally in his drunken state and ended the kiss after about 5 seconds when realizing what was going on. He told me he said “I can’t I have a gf” and walked off the dance floor and didn’t see her the rest of the night. I believe him that it was nothing further, as I picked him up that night, but looking back, he was very intoxicated and was acting a bit off that night, which all makes sense now. Would you forgive this small transgression? He seems very disappointed in himself that it happened and realizes that obviously the dancing was taken too far which allowed this to happen in the first place. I love this man and feel like he is a good guy that would never set out to cheat on me, but got in a bad situation drunk and deeply regrets it. He also stopped it pretty fast and eventually told me himself. However, I don’t want to be a fool, and trust is broken that will take rebuilding. Any advice is appreciated.
