Yesterday evening, while sitting in the main square just outside the medina,I was happy to hear a local performer play the first couple of notes of ‘Redemption Song’… the classic by Bob Marley,one of my favourite songs for many years.
However what followed was the worst rendition I’ve ever heard, both the playing and in particular the singing.. the wrong words and completely out of tune.
I was quite disappointed and my partner was crying with laughter,while trying to hide it from the guy who was playing and singing…I felt sorry for him.At least he had the courage to get up and do it, something I would only do in karaoke, not in the street!

Four degrees this morning. I wanted to go on a bike tour… At least it’s dry. It is getting very autumnal 😞 I don’t like it.
I was trying out an idea for a painting yesterday and after two tries, what seemed like a good idea in my head turned out to be a very lame one. And wasted two sheets of watercolor paper. I shouldn’t skip the initial thumbnail sketching.

Today it’s finally the 2025-2026 season premiere of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL)! And this season feels more hyped up than in a long time, as experts seem to agree that this year’s league is more even and open than in a long time, with a lot of teams predicted to be competing among the favorites as well as around avoiding relegation.
The SHL league season is 52 games long, with about 3 games per week, and lasts until March, when the two months long playoffs begin – so there is a lot of hockey to look forward to!
My team Rögle BK sadly plays their premiere game today away, and their first game at home in Ängelholm will not be until next weekend. However tickets for that first game have of course been basically sold out for a long time already.
Last season was a great disappointment for Rögle, as they went out already in the first playoff round against local Scanian arch rivals Malmö Redhawks. Just the worst possible outcome. And that after reaching the final in 2024. I have a lot of expectations for this season however, as we have a new experienced coach and several new interesting players with good merits, as well as injured players from last season coming back at full health. Will be very fun!
