Hi, for most of my life I was a bit shy and didnt have much confidence in most social interactions. Last year though I got a job in retail that forced me to get out of my comfort zone and talk to people regularly. To my surprise I found out that I love talking with people and I’d consider myself a big “people person”. However I recently started college and I’ve been having a lot of issues transferring those skills I learned at work over to my personal life and I’m having issues making friends in this new environment. It’s weird because whenever I was behind the register I could try and strike up a conversation with anyone and not think twice about it, but when I try to do the same with someone on campus I have like an overwhelming amount of anxiety about it for some reason. Does anyone know what I could do to improve or maybe why there is such a difference for me?
