So I’ve just had a text from somebody claiming to be a debt recovery agency, mentioning it’s for the executor of a deceased relative.
Firstly I wasn’t ever an executor, and this is years after the death of the person in question, and as far as I was aware they had no debts.
The number when I search it seems to be associated with a “debt scam” and some comments mention the same text.
What throws me off is they have the deceaseds name, my number, and obviously an energy provider they were with.
The number they mention in the text doesn’t correspond to the debt agency when I’ve checked their website.
I’m very confused here.
It also states they’re offering a 20% reduction if contacted in 14 days.
