I need help with ideas for confronting situations to deal with my fear of evaluating situations. I have a lot of anxiety about situations where I feel like I am being judged, especially by authority figures (e.g. job interviews, presentations, internships, discussions I want to contribute to, etc.). I've read about shame attack and rejection therapy, but the exercises don't sound that helpful to me. I have no problem approaching strangers to ask for directions or a free seat, but I am afraid of appearing incompetent in situations where I am expected to be competent.
