Currently at a restaurant for breakfast in Germany and the place is huge, seems like a spot to relax. How long does dinner typically take at a restaurant in Europe?

Depends on the type of restaurant. Anywhere between 45 minutes and five hours.
Like 1-2 hours at a restaurant is most common. Definitely not as long as other European countries it feels like.
A cafe for lunch or breakfast is probably like 30-45mins.
Might be a regional thing but if you’re out for a meal it can easily be 3 hours. You wouldn’t really move on to a bar but you tend to stay settled where you ate and have drinks there. But normally I wouldn’t expect this from a Brunch place.
Going out? An hour minimum I’d say, but closer to two in reality. I don’t go just to eat, I go to socialize with the people I’m eating with. And even when I’m alone I just like to chill with a book. I’ll order, eat, then maybe sip on some hot chocolate while reading.
London restaurants now generally book guests in for 90min slots. If they don’t need the table for someone else, you could stay longer, but you’ll often be chivvied along towards the end if it’s busy.

1-2hrs if alone. I eat slower with a group of friends bc I think I talk a lot. Depends what and how much I eat. (I don’t really have much of an appetite) Might take longer if I order a beer or a glass of wine with my meal. I really like to sip, taste and smell the notes.

For special occasions, so with big groups (family and/or friends) it can go up to 2/3 hours, sometimes even more.
Depends. Am I there to enjoy my evening or just getting a bite. Former is 3-4 hours easily for me. Latter is .5-1 hour.
Uk here! My boyfriend and I are usually out in 45mins/ an hour at a mid restaurant like Wagamama’s just for mains. The Ivy was closer to two hours, but we had three courses! Pizza express is about an hour to two hours for three courses
