Hello fellow men of Reddit,
I’m looking for advice on how to finally get my life moving forward. I’m a 31-year-old male living with my parents. I’ve never lived on my own and I haven’t had a stable career yet — just some mediocre food service jobs here and there.
I do have a contracting company with my dad, but business is very slow right now and I feel stuck with it. On top of that, I’ve struggled with social anxiety and depression most of my life. Through middle school, high school, and even college I was extremely quiet and isolated, which really held me back.
Right now, I feel empty and like time is passing me by. Most days I struggle to get through the day and end up getting nothing done. I don’t know what job or career path to choose, and I feel paralyzed when it comes to making progress.
For context, I have an associate’s degree and I actually finished the credits for a bachelor’s, but I never formally graduated.
Does anyone have practical tips, advice, or even personal stories about how you turned things around when you were stuck? Any guidance would mean a lot.
