I’m making a fun trivia game for my buddy’s bachelor party. It’s going to be about a dozen nerdy guys all in their mid to late 30s. What are some fun/nostalgic things we have in common besides:

  • Goldeneye 007
  • Pokémon
  • LAN classics
  • Star Wars
  • Start up sounds (audio round)

I know there’s more prolific and mainstream topics I’m just running out of ideas. Thanks!

  9. If you’re cool to branch it out more broadly to just millennial stuff you could also add more general childhood stuff like TV shows they all likely watched like Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, Dexter’s Lab, etc.

  12. Kind of specific and not sure if it was just me, but we used to always keep the game consoles on top of the TV, so we always had to fight with the controller cords, propping them off to the side so they didn’t dangle in front of the screen.

  13. 1990 kid here, born and raised in a 3rd world country so YMMV, but:

    – 80’s/90’s anime like DBZ/Saint Seiya/others

    – WWF wrestling

    – Power Rangers

    – Nicktoons/Cartoon Network original cartoons

    – I would also throw in a couple normie questions on things like the 90’s Chicago Bulls and such

    At the end of the day, it’s your circle and friends and you know them more than a bunch of Reddit weirdos

    Comic Books, Comic Book Movies, Cartoons, Anime, and Manga also generally go into this pile.

    Beyond Pokemon, pretty much any Nintendo that appears in Smash Brothers and isn’t Fire Emblem or Xenoblade is fair game. (Nothing against Fire Emblem or Xenoblade, they’re just more niche).

  19. Lord of the Rings movies dropped at max hype time in our lives. Now we all want second breakfast and three great friends to go into Mordor with.

  20. Comics were huge for nerdy kids in the 90s. I’m 41, so a bit older, but The Death of Superman and the birth of the Image anti heroes was the talk of the playground.

  27. Nickelodeon cartoons, beanie babies, Tomogachi, N-Sync, Brittany Spears, Nu-Metal, Grunge music. Basically anything any 90s kids remembers growing up.
