Hey all,
I just accepted a new job that’s a big step forward for my career and comes with a significant pay raise. It’s with the State Economic Development Department, and I’m really excited to start in two weeks.
The part I’m a little nervous about: I’ve been working hybrid the past few years and really enjoyed the flexibility. My current boss even lets me split days between office and home, which has been great. This new role is fully in-office, 40 hours a week. I haven’t done that since pre-Covid.
On top of that, I’m approaching 40 and noticing that my energy just isn’t what it used to be. I want to go in with the right mindset and routines, rather than dreading the return to full-time office life.
For those of you who’ve gone back to full-time in-office work after years of hybrid/remote:
- How do you keep your energy up throughout the day?
- What helps you stay positive and avoid the “this is going to suck” mindset?
- Any success stories of adjusting better than you thought?
I’m pumped for the opportunity, just trying to get my head in the right space before I start.
