I (nb29+) am trying to rekindle my relationships with my two older cousins (f and m, not siblings, both in their 30s)?
We used to be close when we were little kids but stopped spending time together as adolescence struck. Nowadays, we only call on birthdays and holidays. We rarely see each other. I haven't even seen my male cousin in three years now.
The problem? I'm the problem. I'm too introverted compared to my extroverted cousins.
When we were kids, it was easy to hang out. We liked playing kid's games together, the same cartoons, similar toys… then we all grew up.
We have different hobbies and likes.
- I don't watch live action media much, focusing on cartoons, while my cousins only watch live-action shows. My cousins like games but they play Fortnite on their Playstation.
- I'm a Nintendo-only gamer who has never even played a shooter besides Metroid Prime and Splatoon, and I have no interest in downloading Fortnite.
- I think my female cousin likes books, but our reading habits are different. All I know is that she likes Harry Potter and I lowkey dislike Harry Potter.
I'm inviting my female cousin to go see Wicked Part 2 with me. I have no clue how to reach out to my male cousin.
Any advice? I was thinking trying inviting them out to board games shops where we can play together?
