Gonna keep this brief. People first treat me as interesting and lively, even saying I’m never boring. But after a few months, that same personality suddenly becomes “too much.” I get called annoying. Friends cut me off without explanation, even though I’ve been a good friend and tried my hardest to be there for them.

And it makes me wonder, would this be different if I was conventionally pretty? For context, I’m not. I have features that are literally the furthest from societal standards. I’ve never been called pretty by anyone, not even my friends. I’m not trying to be pick-me, I’m just being honest.

I talk a lot. I’m sarcastic, loud, and have an obscure sense of humor. That’s who I am. And apparently, that’s exhausting for people after a while.

Does personality only get tolerated or celebrated if it comes with "pretty privilege"? How much of this is me, and how much is just how people respond to someone who doesn’t fit the conventional mold?
