We have a nice lobby, in a not-so-nice town, and terrible building managers. At night a crack head and friends come in using a fob, smoke up, use the power to charge phones and leave a mess.
The lobby STINKS, and kids use it so we don’t want them finding drug detritus. They have been agressive to people walking through too and left burns on the sofa. So not ideal.
Somehow they have obtained a fob to get into the lobby. We don’t know how. You can easily get these fobs duplicated. There are security cameras showing them use it, then leave so they are not tenants.
It should be a simple fix, by deactivating the fob and its duplicates but RMG are the worst fucking building management company. They say that they don’t have a record of fobs and claim they can’t find out which fob it is – even if we give them time codes.
I suspect they never gave us individual fobs numbers and it would mean deactivating multiple people’s. Which they have no record of. To change every fob they would charge thousands for the privilege and the building is huge, so getting new fobs to every tenant would be difficult. Not to mention it could just happen again.
The police turn up usually an hour or so after being called and it is always too late.
I personally want to install a ring camera so we can all get a notification and confront them ourselves, but I’m a 5 foot woman 😅 and other tenants might take some convincing.
What else can we do!? Can I hire goons!? Help me Reddit.
