I'm 48 so video games didn't really take off until about 11-12. Although there were ZX Spectrums, Comodores and Amastrads.
But I think the best thing from my childhood was that we did have to socialise in person. Dial up Internet was way in the future even by the time I reached 13.
But other things that stand out in my mind….
Food tasted nicer.
Jumping into to sea from piers and sometimes clifftops.
Being grounded hurt like hell.
The high street was still thriving.
And you didn't need to take out a bank loan to buy your family a chippy tea.
